CORNPLANTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — A vehicle crash Tuesday night on Route 8 sent two Oil City teen-agers to an area hospital.

State Police in Franklin said the accident occurred at 10:16 p.m. in Cornplanter Township.

A report issued Wednesday said a 17-year-old female was driving a 2011 Suzuki SX4 south on Route 8 when she lost control of the vehicle while attempting to negotiate a left-hand curve.

The SX4 traveled across the road and hit a bridge wall and guide rail.

The driver and an 18-year-old passenger were taken to UPMC Northwest for treatment of unknown injuries. Both occupants were using seat belts.

Cornplanter Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene. The vehicle was towed by Venango Towing.
