| April 3, 2019

OIL CITY, Pa. – Tickets are on sale now for the “Oil City Uncorked” Spring Wine Walk slated for Friday, April 26.

The event is from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in downtown Oil City.

It features an evening of wine sampling and strolling at various host businesses in the city’s south side business district.

Tickets are $20.00 in advance or $25.00 on the day of the event while supplies last and can be purchased at Tipsy Chef, 45 Seneca Street (open 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday) or online at www.oilcitymainstreet.org.

All proceeds of “Oil City Uncorked” benefit the various downtown revitalization efforts of the Oil City Main Street Program.

“Because of Oil City’s geography, we do two wine walks each year,” stated Kathy Bailey, Main Street Manager.

“They are a key fundraiser for our program, as well as a way of bringing people into our downtown businesses. People love the opportunity to have an evening on the town and stroll around with friends, sample some wine, and get to know your local businesses owners.”

All wine walk participants must be age 21 or older, and must check-in on the day of the event in person, with valid photo ID and ticket or confirmation in hand. Participants will receive a map showing the host businesses and wineries, and a complimentary wine glass for wine tasting. Wine samples must be consumed inside the host business, and participants may order bottles of wine and pick them up when they finish their walk. Participants who visit each host venue also have the opportunity to win a free wine gift basket.

Fourteen wineries will be participating in the spring event, including Allegheny Cellars Winery, Wilhelm Winery, Brokenstraw Valley Winery, Wapiti Ridge Wine Cellars, Shadow Vineyard & Winery, Fractured Grape Winery & Knockin’ Noggin Cidery, Black Dog Wine Company, Twisted Vine Winery, Webb Winery, Presque Isle Wine Cellars, Deer Creek Winery, the Winery at Wilcox, KingView Mead, and Bear Creek Wines at Knox.

Host venues include the Oil City Library, Oil City Movie Stop, S J Young Financial Services, Gates & Burns Real Estate, Friedhaber’s Appliances, Famoore’s Family Restaurant, Clifford’s Carpets, Williams Insurance & Travel, State Street Furniture & Sleep Shoppe, Rural Mental Health Associates, Spilling the Beans, and Hair to Please You.
