– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)

According to a criminal complaint filed by Patrolman Drake, several officers were dispatched to The Rusty Nail, in Oil City, around 11:46 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, for a report of a woman being asked to leave the establishment. The caller reported that when the patron left the bar, she damaged the bartender’s vehicle.

It was reported that the woman – later identified as Patricia Attleberger – was walking toward Virgile Scrap Metals on Union Street. Upon arrival to the scene, police determined that she left the area. They received a tip that she was at an address on Lower Selden Avenue, the complaint states.

While approaching the Lower Selden Avenue residence, officers heard a female yelling and crying inside the home. Officers were able to make contact with the homeowner who confirmed Attleberger was inside the residence, the complaint indicates.

Attleberger then came out onto the porch of the residence. She was wearing a white sweatshirt and capri pants as described by the caller.

While speaking with officers, Attleberger allegedly became increasingly belligerent. Police asked Attleberger to lower her voice several times.

She admitted to being at the Rusty Nail and confirmed that she was asked to leave, according to the complaint.

Attleberger was taken into custody for public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief.

While being transported to the Oil City Police Station, Attleberger slammed her head on the patrol vehicle’s partition several times and was screaming and kicking the door, the complaint states.

Attleberger was then escorted into the police station by Lieutenant Love and Patrolman Drake. Upon entering a holding cell, she allegedly threw herself on the floor and refused to cooperate with officers. When officers attempted to secure her in the cell, she allegedly became combative and kicked Patrolman Drake several times in the upper body, according to the complaint.

After she was secured in the cell, Attleberger allegedly spat on Patrolman Drake’s face and stated “I hope you die from AIDS,” the complaint states.

Attleberger was lodged in the Venango County Jail and later released after posting $5,000.00 cash bail.
