Oil City Woman Accused of Attempting to Solicit Sex from Underage Girl

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City woman is facing criminal charges for allegedly attempting to solicit sex from a minor female.

According to court documents, the Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 26-year-old Erica Paige Grimes, of Oil City.

Oil City Police say the charges stem from an investigation in which Grimes allegedly attempted to solicit a minor female to engage in sexual relations with her and another known person on May 14, 2017. The solicitation or enticement took place via a text message.

On May 31, the Oil City Police Department became aware of the incident. A subsequent interview occurred with the minor female victim regarding the facts of the incident, police say.

On June 2, the Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against Grimes in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office.

She faces the following charges:

– Sexual Exploitation Of Children Offense Defined, Felony 2
– Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
– Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1

Bail was set at $5,000.000 monetary.

Grime is currently lodged in the Venango County Jail on another case on the following charges that were filed on May 23:

– Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
– False Swearing — Mislead Public Servant, Misdemeanor 2

Preliminary hearings for both cases are set for 8:30 a.m. on June 7 with Judge Fish presiding.
