CORNPLANTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City woman is facing charges after she allegedly attempted to strike her mother with a baseball bat and injured her father during a domestic dispute.

According to court documents, 40-year-old Kristen Leigh O’Connor, of Oil City, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, in Venango County Central Court on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)

She is currently lodged in the Venango County Jail on $25,000.00 monetary bail.

The charges stem from a domestic incident that occurred around 6:39 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, at a residence located on the 1400 Block of Rouseville Road in Cornplanter Township, Venango County.

According to a criminal complaint, Trooper Barnhill, of the Franklin-based State Police, responded to the above-described location for a report of a domestic incident in progress.

When Trooper Barnhill arrived at the scene, Kristen Leigh O’Connor was arguing with her parents due to “her alleged use of controlled substances and mental stability,” according to the complaint.

The complaint states that O’Connor “attempted to strike her mother with a baseball bat, grabbed her, and wrestled her to the ground.”

The complaint notes the known victim struck her head during the incident, causing swelling.

O’Connor is also accused of causing her father to injure his arm as he was separating her from her mother, the complaint states.

O’Connor was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11.
