Oil City Woman Allegedly Beats Woman with Dresser Drawer, Punches Man in Mouth

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City woman is accused of assault, burglary, and related charges stemming from an incident that occurred on Front Street, in Franklin, Venango County.

Court documents indicate the Sugarcreek Boro Police Department filed criminal charges against 32-year-old Erika Sanchez Estrada, of Oil City.

According to a criminal complaint, Lieutenant Baker was dispatched to 233 Front Street for an ongoing assault. When he arrived at the scene, he discovered that the suspect had fled with a dresser.

Lieutenant Baker spoke with a known man who said that Erika Estrada had just walked into his house and then went upstairs and started to beat on a known woman. When he got into his bedroom, he started to pull Estrada off the victim, and then she punched him in the mouth and started to kick the victim in the head. The known man grabbed Estrada again to get her off the victim. The victim then called the police, the complaint states.

Additionally, the victim stated that when Estrada came into the bedroom, she took a drawer out of it and was beating her with it, the complaint indicates.

The known man stated that Estrada took the dresser and left, the complaint continues.

Lieutenant noticed a spot on the carpet where something had been there for awhile. The known man stated that was where the dresser was located. He said it was a small, two-drawer dresser, according to the complaint.

The victim went to the emergency room for injuries, as she was complaining of her head hurting and being dizzy, the complaint continues.

According to court documents, Estrada was arraigned at 5:00 p.m. on August 11 in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on the following charges:

  • Burglary – Overnight Accommodations; Person Present, Bodily Injury Crime, Felony 1
  • Robbery-Inflicting Threat Immediate Bodily Injury Felony 2
  • Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1
  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2 (2 counts)

Unable to post $50,000 cash bail, she was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on August 23 in Venango County Central Court.
