OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City woman is facing charges after she allegedly drove another man to meet an undercover officer for a drug deal.

According to a criminal complaint, an undercover agent (UC) had contact on Facebook with a known man who agreed to exchange two ounces of marijuana with the agent. The man allegedly said his girl was bringing him to the location along North Seneca Street in Oil City on June 10.

At the location, a vehicle pulled in next to the UC’s vehicle and the driver, allegedly identified as Christine Renee Baker, 36, of Oil City, nodded her head to the UC to come to her vehicle, the complaint states.

The UC entered the front passenger seat of the vehicle, and the man was in the rear passenger seat and said “I put it in a bag for you” and handed a plastic bag to the UC. The bag contained a cardboard box which contained a Ziploc bag with suspected marijuana, and the UC paid $425.00 for it, the complaint indicates.

Baker allegedly spoke to police on June 4 and stated she would at times drive the man to meet people and said the man “wasn’t selling people large quantities, he was selling them stuff to use,” the complaint continues.

According to online court documents, Baker was arraigned at 11:00 a.m. on July 23 before District Judge Andrew Fish in District Court 28-03-01.

She faces the following charges:

  • Manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, felony (two counts)
  • Possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered, misdemeanor

Bail was set at $15,000.00 unsecured.

A preliminary hearing has been set for 1:30 p.m. on July 29 in Venango County Central Court with Judge Fish presiding.
