Oil City Woman Charged in Domestic Abuse Incident

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City woman is facing charges after a recent domestic incident at a Hoffman Avenue residence.

According to court documents, the Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 31-year-old Megan Ranae Doyle, of Oil City.

She faces the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 3
– Disorderly Conduct Engage in Fighting, Misdemeanor 3
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:58 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, Oil City Police Officer Regina Deloe responded to 117 Hoffman Avenue for a domestic dispute between Megan Doyle and her husband, Mark Doyle.

When Patrolwoman Deloe arrived at the scene, she saw Megan Doyle standing there holding a cell phone. Doyle told the officer “he” (referring to her husband) is running down Harriott Avenue, the complaint indicates.

At that point, Chief Robert Wenner reported he was with Mark Doyle on Harriott Avenue, the complaint states.

According to Megan Doyle, the argument between her and her husband began over Mark’s work belt. Mark then picked up a cigarette roller and other tobacco-related items and went outside the home. Megan followed him, still trying to take the items from him, the complaint continues.

Megan Doyle allegedly admitted to hitting and scratching Mark several times, according to the complaint.

Following an investigation, police filed criminal charges against Megan Doyle.

Court documents indicate that Mark Doyle’s case was moved to a non-traffic court on November 15.

He is facing one summary count of harassment.

A summons was issued to Mark Doyle on November 21, according to court documents.

The status of his case is active, awaiting a plea.
