ROUSEVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City woman is facing felony theft charges stemming from the theft of a pistol in late November.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 28-year-old Lisa C. Walter, of Oil City.

According to a criminal complaint, on November 20, 2017, Trooper Cirell was dispatched to a known individual’s residence in Rouseville Borough for a report of a theft.

Upon arrival at the residence, Trooper Cirell made contact with the individual who explained that he had allowed Lisa Walter to stay at his residence. The individual stated that while he was at work, Walter took his Black Taurus PT 1911 pistol, as well as an orange hooded sweatshirt, and left the residence.

According to the complaint, the individual showed Trooper Cirell a text message conversation between himself and Walter. In the conversation, the individual messaged Walter asking her to return the items.

One message stated, “Honestly Lisa your gonna risk dealing with the cops, burning bridges, and any reputation you had left over a gun that cost a week’s paycheck to anyone with a job, I didn’t think you’d fallen that far,” according to the complaint.

Walter’s return message stated, “Well I have and I can’t getit back to u right now…I didn’t want to do it but my dude kept telling me to do it,” the complaint indicates.

The pistol was recovered by Akron Ohio Police Department on January 10, 2018. According to a detective from the Akron Police Department, the pistol in question was recovered as a result of a search warrant executed as part of a narcotics investigation in Akron.

Based on the investigation, Walter was arraigned at 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office.

She faces a second-degree felony charge of Theft By Unlaw Taking-Immovable Property.

Unable to post $25,000.00 cash bail, she was lodged in the Venango County Jail.
