OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City woman is facing felony child endangerment charges after leaving two small children unattended in a vehicle.

Court documents indicate the Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 25-year-old Keela Marie Baker, of Oil City.

According to a criminal complaint, on Saturday, August 25, Patrolman Rosenberger, of the Oil City Police Department, was dispatched to the Giant Eagle parking lot for a report of a vehicle with two children inside and no adult in attendance.

The complaint states that when Patrolman Rosenberger pulled into the parking lot, he witnessed a black Subaru with two small children inside. He was then approached by a woman identified as Keela Baker who admitted that she had gone into Giant Eagle and left the children in the vehicle for several minutes while she was in the store.

Patrolman Rosenberger had knowledge from a prior law enforcement experience that Baker did not have a valid driver’s license, as it was suspended, according to the complaint.

Baker was arraigned at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office on the following charges:

  • Endangering Welfare of Children — Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Felony 3 (two counts)
