OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – An Oil City woman is facing a hearing this afternoon on additional drug charges after a State Parole Agent discovered her in possession of methamphetamine.

Court documents indicate 43-year-old Brenda Kay McVay, of Oil City, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

According to a criminal complaint, around 3:22 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, Patrolman Rembold, of the Oil City Police Department, was dispatched to a residence on East 4th Street where he met with a state parole agent who advised they were responding to the residence to do a house check on Brenda McVay.

The parole agent stated that when they spoke with McVay and asked if she had any illegal narcotics in her house, she stated that she had some items in a small lockbox and showed him where the box was and also gave him the combination.

According to the complaint, the agent reported he opened the box and observed several items of drug paraphernalia, and when he opened a small clear container, he saw a white substance in a baggie that McVay first stated was meth, and then said she thought it was, but was just holding it for a friend. The agent then contacted the Oil City Police.

Patrolman Rembold then took possession of the silver lockbox, and McVay was transported to Venango County Jail on probation violations.

The complaint notes a NIK test completed on Wednesday, April 10, indicated the substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

McVay was arraigned at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11.

Court documents indicate McVay has a history of criminal activity in Venango County, having served jail time on previous drug charges.
