CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a one-car accident occurred early yesterday morning on State Route 157, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Police say around 5:30 a.m., a 2014 Toyota Corolla was traveling north on Gabler Lane, approaching the intersection with Route 157. The driver — 46-year-old Jamie L. Black, of Oil City — intended to turn left onto Route 157; however, the car was traveling too fast for Black to execute the turn.

According to police, Black lost control of the car. It crossed over both lanes of Route 157 and exited the north side of the roadway. The car impacted a ditch and then a utility with its front end. The car came to a rest at this point, facing approximately north.

Black was transported to UPMC Northwest for suspected minor injuries.

She was using a seat belt.

She was charged with a traffic violation.

Community Ambulance Service and Seneca Volunteer Fire Department assisted State Police at the scene.
