Oil City Woman Injured in Two-Car Crash on Route 257

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police responded to a two-car crash that occurred on July 25, along Route 257 in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to police, around 11:05 a.m. on July 25, 70-year-old Gary L. Small, of Franklin, was traveling south on Route 257 when he stopped in the southbound lane.

Fifty-two-year-old Virginia E. Kuhls, of Oil City, intended to turn left onto North Main Street and was approaching Small’s vehicle from behind on Route 257.

Kuhls reportedly failed to stop the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix, and it impacted with the rear end of Small’s 2008 Subaru Outback.

Both vehicles traveled several feet south before coming to a final stop along the right curb.

Kuhls was wearing her seat belt during the accident and sustained a suspected minor injury.

Gary L. Small and a passenger — Linda L. Small, 72, also of Franklin, were both wearing seat belts during the accident and were not injured.

Kuhls and Gary L. Small were both charged with driving traffic violations.
