Police say an investigation was initiated after a vehicle crashed into a ditch along Rockwood Road just west of Oak Grove Road in Cornplanter Township.

The vehicle was registered to 47-year-old Pamela Sue Trauterman, of Oil City.

According to police, at the residence, Trauterman was allegedly found to be intoxicated and in her care were approximately six male children under the age of 18.

Through an investigation, it was found that Trauterman allegedly had one of the unlicensed minors drive her through the City of Oil City to a boyfriend’s house and to also purchase alcohol, police say.

Two other minor children were also in the vehicle at this time, according to police.

Police say Trauterman allegedly stayed at the friend’s house permitting the three minors to operate her Pontiac Torrent back to her residence on Clark Alley alone.

According to police, after an undetermined time, Trauterman allegedly contacted the minor who was operating the vehicle by cell phone requesting he drive her vehicle back down to her friend’s house to pick her up. The minor did as asked.

Police say then the minor drove to the Country Fair on the Northside of town to purchase gasoline and cigarettes. Again, the unlicensed minor operated the vehicle from the store back to Trauterman’s residence.

At some point, Trauterman allegedly passed out on the living couch. During that time, the minor and his friend took the vehicle with the case of Busch beer on the front passenger floor for a drive up to Rockwood Road near the intersection with Oak Grove where they wrecked the vehicle into a ditch. One of the minors allegedly consumed a can of beer prior to the crash, police say.

They both fled the scene leaving the vehicle partially on the roadway causing a hazardous condition, according to police.

They walked back to the Trauterman’s residence and advised her of wrecking the vehicle. Nobody at the residence contacted the police to report the crash.

Trauterman was charged with the following offenses:

– two counts of Endangering the Welfare of Children
– two counts of Corruption of Minors
– one count of Selling or Furnishing Liquor of Malt or Brewed Beverages to Minors
– one count of a vehicle code violation – Permitting Unauthorized Person to Drive

Trauterman was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Michael Snyder

Unable to post $20,000.00 bail, she was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

The two minors will be cited for numerous traffic violations.
