Oil City Woman Killed in Butler County Crash

BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – Two women, including one from Oil City, were killed in head-on collision in Butler County.

State police say 22-year-old Kendra Proctor, of Oil City, and 88-year-old Ruth Leidecker, of Wexford, were killed Wednesday in a head-on crash on Route 19.

Police say Ms. Proctor was traveling north on Route 19 in Muddy Creek Twp. around 5 p.m. when she crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a vehicle operated by 72-year-old Sherlaine Kowalski of Gibsonia.

Ms. Proctor and Ms. Leidecker, who was a passenger in Kowalski’s car, were both flown to Pittsburgh hospitals where they were pronounced dead.

Ms. Kowalski was flown to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh for treatment of serious injuries sustained in the crash.

There’s no word on her current condition.

Police say all three women were wearing safety belts.
