Oil City YMCA Announces American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course

OIL CITY, Pa. – The Oil City YMCA is hosting an American Red Cross Lifeguard Class this spring.

If you are interested in a summer job or challenging career as a lifeguard, you are encouraged to take the class held at the Oil City YMCA in May.  The combines online learning with hands-on training.  The online portion of the class is completed at the student’s convenience from April 30 to May 4.  In-person training will take place on Saturday, May 5, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 6, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid, CPR/AED, and skills necessary to work as a lifeguard. Participants must be at least 15 years old and pass swimming requirements.

The cost of the program is $175.00/Member; $200.00/Non Member. Participants must be able to attend all hands-on days of class.

Upon completion of the class, the Oil City YMCA encourages participants to apply for a job as a lifeguard at the Oil City YMCA, Clarion County YMCA, Clarion Borough Pool and/or Two Mile Run County Park. Applications will be reviewed in late May.

Hours

The Oil City YMCA hours are Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
