OIL CITY, Pa. — Pickleball might just be the next great American sport, and it’s coming to the Oil City YMCA on May 4th and 6th!

Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines the elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. It features a wiffleball instead of a tennis ball, and a paddle is used to hit the ball.

The game has become very popular across the United States, and pickleball clubs have formed. Some have described the game as “fun and slightly addictive.”

The YMCA will host two clinics to teach pickleball rules and game play on May 4th and May 6th.
Learn skills from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and participate in game play from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

A Pickleball Ambassador from Henderson County will be on hand to teach rules and technique to participants.

The YMCA will provide all the equipment needed, or you may bring your own. Contact Katie Port, Health & Wellness Director, for more information.

For more information about the Oil City YMCA and Y programs, please visit the YMCA website at www.oilcityymca.org, call 814-677-3000 and follow the Y on Facebook.

The YMCA hours are Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and closed on Sundays.
