OIL CITY, Pa. — The Oil City YMCA has announced an evening of Halloween fun for the community on Friday, October 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

A Halloween Harvest Festival will be held at the Oil City YMCA for local families.

The event is free and open to the community. Children are encouraged to arrive at 6:00 p.m. in costume to join trick-or-treat and a costume parade in the gym. Prizes will be awarded for costumes.

Games, crafts, a large bounce and slide obstacle course, a pool party and concessions will also be available throughout the evening for kids. Pre-registration is not required to participate.

“We’re offering a free community event this year for Halloween,” said Tom Spence, CEO of the Scenic Rivers YMCA. “Our outdoor event was always a success but was very dependent on the weather. We’re hoping more will be able to participate in the free activities at the YMCA.”

The YMCA is enlisting the help of Clarion University students and local churches and groups to help with the trick-or-treat portion of the event. Groups will set up decorated tables and will pass out treats to the kids.

Donations for treats are being accepted at the YMCA through Thursday, October 19.

Anyone wishing to set up a table or help at the event is asked to call Jennifer Kissell-Dudek at 814-677-3000 or email ocyaquatics@oilcityymca.net.
