Greenville started off quickly on the wet turf and had the first couple of chances in the game. ORSA evened up the run of play while creating chances of their own. The game stayed even until late in the half when Greenville scored on a bending shot that found the far post. Unfortunately, the goal was scored when an ORSA player with the ball slipped and fell.

ORSA started aggressively in the second half and the intensity paid off. The pressure forced a bad clear and Greg Fackler found Jake Eshelman on a quick counter. Jake managed to beat the keeper and even the score. The half continued to be tilted to ORSA and a dangerous corner resulted in a penalty shot. Reece Henderson continued his perfect season from the spot and doubled the lead, 2-1.

Greenville pressed hard in the last 10 minutes to try and get back even, but the defense held firm and sealed the victory. Noah Taylor had one of his best games defensively. Sam Pfohl and Johnathan Leccia made several saves each in the net to share the victory.

The team will finish the season on the road at Grove City in an attempt to conclude an undefeated season.

Delta Force ’05 traveled to Pittsburgh on Sunday to face the Dynamo at Schenley Park. The Force got off to a slow start, allowing the Dynamo to dictate the pace of the match. Force Keeper Connor Ritchey, having a strong outing, was up to the challenge. Chippy Whitling, Mazy Shingledecker, and Ayden Kerr all had chances to score but were denied by the Pittsburgh netminder. The first half ended 0-0 but truly favored the home team.

With the second half underway, Oil Region began to relax and settled into their more natural flow, passing, moving, and finding the open player. This paid quick dividends few quick passes from the back made their way to Nathan Pfenningwerth, who slipped a pass to Gage Hanniwalt, who fired home the opening goal. Less than 10 minutes later, the dynamic duo was back at it, Pfenningwerth played a pass through the defense while Hanniwalt outran 2 defenders and ripped a shot past the keeper, making the score 2-nil. Nick Kilgore scored the final goal, pouncing on a loose ball, knocking it past the keeper.

Ayden Kerr relieved Ritchey in goal, as they combined for the shut-out victory. Seldon Bean was lauded for his play on the day.

The Force have a busy weekend, traveling to Sewickley on Saturday and to Jennette on Sunday for a league doubleheader.

Whitling U11 lost 7-2 to Grove City this weekend. Scoring for ORSA was Kendall Doty and Nathaniel Williams. The young plucky team continued to play hard and improve.
