One Dead After SUV Strikes Tree in Forest County

TIONESTA TWP., Pa. (EYT) — One person was killed in a single-vehicle accident Saturday in Tionesta Township, Forest County.

Marienville-based State Police say the accident happened around 11:30 a.m. when a vehicle operated by Jeffrey A. Oleshak, 62, of Jamestown, NY, exited State Route 36 near Shriver Road.

Oleshak’s 2005 GMC Yukon then struck a wooden fence and traveled over an embankment before crashing into a tree.

Oleshak, who was wearing a safety belt, suffered fatal injuries in the accident.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Forest County Coroner’s office.

A female passenger and a dog were unharmed.

Tionesta Volunteer Fire Department, Tionesta Ambulance, EmergyCare, and Frank’s Auto & Sons also assisted at the scene.
