One Injured in Chain-Reaction Crash on Rocky Grove Avenue

SUGARCREEK, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police have released details surrounding an April 24 crash on Rocky Grove Avenue.

The accident happened around 1:01 p.m. and involved , 27-year-old John L. Haun, of Centerville, 25-year-old Justin L. Blackwelder, of Titusville, and a 17-year-old Titusville male.

Police say vehicles operated by Blackwelder and the 17-year-old male were stopped in the northbound lane of Rocky Grove Avenue waiting for a vehicle in front of them to exit the roadway.

A fourth vehicle, operated by Haun, failed to stop and collied with Blackwelder’s vehicle. Blackwelder’s vehicle then collided with the 17-year-old male’s vehicle.

Blackwelder suffered minor injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Haun was cited for Careless Driving.

Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department/EMS assisted at the scene.
