One Killed, Two Seriously Injured in Truck vs. Amish Buggy Crash on Route 208

IMG_1524WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – One person was killed and two are seriously injured following a truck versus Amish buggy accident that occurred on Thursday afternoon near the intersection of Route 208 and Bell Road, just west of Dehner Cemetery, in Washington Township, Clarion County.

According to Marienville-based State Police, around 4:40 p.m. on March 17, 25-year-old Kevin M. Jones was traveling east on Route 208 in a box-type truck and rear-ended a horse and buggy with three occupants – Eli Mast, Rudy Mast, and Amon Mast.

Police say all three occupants of the buggy were ejected.

The truck impacted a guide rail and continued traveling east on Route 208 along the guide rail before eventually overturning and rolling down the embankment.

All occupants of the buggy were transported from the scene for treatment.

Eli Mast passed away at Clarion Hospital, according to police.

Rudy Mast and Amon Mast suffered serious injuries, police say.

Agencies dispatched to the scene included Marienville-based State Police, Washington VFD, Farmington VFC, Pinegrove VFD, Shippenville Ambulance, Clarion Ambulance, Life Flight, and Stat MedEvac.

Bauer Truck Repair was also on the scene.

The accident closed a portion of Route 208 until approximately 9:50 p.m.

The investigation continues.
