One Person Airlifted to UPMC Hamot Following Canal Township Crash

CANAL TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Authorities say one person was airlifted to UPMC Hamot in Erie following a one-vehicle crash in Canal Township on Saturday night.

According to a representative of Venango County 9-1-1, they received a call around 10:27 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, reporting a one-vehicle crash in the area of 2044 Utica Road in Canal Township.

Utica Volunteer Fire Department, Community Ambulance Service, and Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to the scene.

STAT MedEvac was also dispatched to the scene, and one person was then airlifted to UPMC Hamot.

The scene was cleared around 11:41 p.m.

No additional details are available at this time.

Police are expected to release information on the accident within the next 48 hours.
