CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say around 11:44 a.m. on March 5, a three-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 322, south of Bredinsburg Road, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to police, 37-year-old Samuel G. Johnson of Knox; 48-year-old Brian W. Wolfe also of Knox; and 30-year-old Oyunkhand Stout of Franklin were involved in the collision.

Police say Johnson, operating a 2009 Hyundai Accent, was traveling westbound on SR 322 and was distracted by his cell phone and failed to see a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Wolfe stopped in the traffic lane.

Johnson struck Wolfe, causing moderate damage and pushed Wolfe’s vehicle into a 2012 Toyota 4 Runner driven by Stout, causing minor damage to that vehicle, according to police.

All drivers were using seat belts.

Johnson and Stout were not injured.

Wolfe suffered minor injuries and was transported to UPMC Northwest by Community Ambulance.

Franklin Fire Department assisted at the scene, and Klapec towed the vehicles from the scene.

Johnson was cited for electronic devices and careless driving.

Wolfe was cited for an unregistered vehicle.

Charges were filed at Magistrate Dinberg’s office in Seneca.
