Vehicle Crashes into Tree in Sugarcreek

SUGARCREEK, Pa. (EYT) — According to the Sugarcreek Police Department, a one-vehicle crash occurred around 9:37 p.m. on September 10, at the intersection of Sugarcreek Drive and Red Bridge Lane, in Sugarcreek, Venango County.

Police say the accident occurred as Joseph Eli Buckley, 37, of Polk, was traveling south on Sugarcreek Drive and failed to negotiate a left hand curve.

The vehicle left the roadway, squeezed between a row of mailboxes and a tree, traveled through a yard, and struck another tree.

Buckley was found by officers allegedly walking away from the scene of the collision. He refused medical treatment at the scene.

According to police, Buckley was charged with three traffic violations which include Driving While Operating Privileges Are Suspended.

Buckley was taken into custody on unrelated warrants.

The Sugarcreek Police were assisted at the scene by the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Community Ambulance Service.
