Orbin L. Branthoover, 90, of Oakmont, formerly of Ferree Rd., Emlenton and Clintonville, died Saturday morning, August 5, 2017 at The Willows at Oakmont Nursing Home.

Orbin was born in Foxburg on June 29, 1927.

He was the son of the late Orbin L. Branthoover and Helene G. Eddinger Branthoover Boyd and the stepson of James P. Boyd.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.

He had been employed by Honeywell.

In his earlier years, he and his wife had resided in Fairbanks, Alaska.

He was a Mason.

Orbin was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mae Branthoover on August 13, 2016.

He is survived by a son, John R. Branthoover and his fiancé, Debbie Colby, of Freeport.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 802 Grove St., St. Petersburg, from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday.

A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 8:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dan Myers, a retired Methodist pastor, officiating.
