– Possession Of Marijuana, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

The charges have been transferred to the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

Wilson is currently lodged in the Venango County Jail on $10,000.00 monetary bail.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in Rocky Grove last week.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 11:17 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, Chief Bob Wenner, of the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department, observed a male on Fox Street in the village of Rocky Grove in Franklin who appeared to be under the influence.

Chief Wenner requested assistance by radio and attempted to stop the man, who then allegedly attempted to run.

According to the complaint, when Lieutenant Ashbaugh arrived at the scene, Chief Wenner and the man, identified as John Adams Wilson II, were stopped on Fox Street near the intersection with Nesbit Street.

The complaint notes Wilson seemed very agitated and animated and was pulling away from Chief Wenner and making erratic body movements.

According to the complaint, after Wilson was “calmed” the officers attempted to take the book bag from his back, and he began to pull away again, allegedly making statements that he would get it off. He was ordered to stand still and eventually taken to the ground and placed in handcuffs.

According to the complaint, as well as showing outward signs of being intoxicated, Lieutenant Ashbaugh and Chief Wenner were also aware Wilson was an absconder from State Probation and Parole and had other outstanding warrants.

The complaint notes the items taken from Wilson were secured in Lieutenant Ahsbaugh’s vehicle.

According to the complaint, while being secured at the police station, Wilson also tossed a marijuana “blunt” onto a bench and stated “that was all he had.”

A search incident to arrest was then performed.

The search found a lock box in Wilson’s book bag. The lock box allegedly contained several pieces of drug paraphernalia including an “owe book,” digital scales, baggies, zig zag rolling papers, razor blades, scissors, cutters, and additional items. The box also allegedly contained five individual baggies of various weights of methamphetamine, and one small baggie of marijuana.

The complaint notes NIK tests of the substances were positive for methamphetamine and marijuana, respectively.

Wilson was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 3:01 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15.
