MERCER COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Mercer-based State Police say a woman suffered major injuries in a one-vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 208 (Barkleyville Road), 7/10 mile west of Glen Lake Mobile Home Park, in Pine Township, Mercer County.

According to police, 37-year-old Joshua L. Leach, of Grove City, was driving a Chevrolet S-10 pickup westbound on SR 208 and, for unknown reasons, drove off the roadway to the north and struck several trees.

Leach suffered minor injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle — 33-year-old Jessica L. Benhaida, also of Grove City — suffered major injuries.

Superior Ambulance transported her to Grove City Medical Center, and she was then life-flighted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital due to the severity of her injuries, according to police.

Leach was charged with a traffic violation.
