Patricia A. Voloshin

Patricia A. Voloshin, 80, a resident of Chestnut Street, Franklin, died peacefully Sunday, October 6, 2019, in UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh; following a period of declining health.

She was born August 31, 1939, in Oil City, a beloved daughter of the late: Joseph G. and Stella M. Barlog Voloshin.

Patricia was a 1957 graduate of Franklin High School.

Following her high school graduation, Patricia enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where she proudly served her country during Peacetime; earning rank of Lance Corporal.

Following her honorable discharge from duty, she had worked as a secretary at American Can Company in Chicago for more than 30 years.

She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin.

She enjoyed putting together puzzles and working crossword puzzles, watching old movies on TV and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Patricia is survived by two sisters: Mary V. Ward and husband, Leroy of Rocky Grove and Linda L. Bickel of Franklin.

Also surviving are her nieces and nephews: Jeffrey Ward, Cheri Speer, Jamie Dailey, Leslie Cliff, Sheila Bickel, Kevin Voloshin, Patty Voloshin and Richard Voloshin; in addition to many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Richard and John Voloshin.

Friends may call Wednesday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home, with Deacon Richard Reed of St. Patrick Church, presiding.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 949 Liberty Street, with Monsignor John J. Herbein, pastor, officiating. Immediately following Mass, full military burial honors will be accorded outside the church by The V.E.T.S. Funeral Honor Guard of Franklin.

Private interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.

Memorial contributions, if desired may be made in her name to either St. Patrick Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
