Patricia “Pat” Ann Vaughan, 82, of Franklin passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018.

Born January 25, 1936, in Pittsburgh, she was the loving daughter of parents Gerorid and Dorothy (Dreistadt) Coulter. She married her husband, Robert Vaughan, on June 12, 1958; he precedes her in death.

Pat was a wonderful mom and the best Nana anyone could ask for. She loved and was proud of her three daughters, Janet Masters (Mike), Nancy Stricklen, and Amy Rolison (Rick); and her three granddaughters, Jordan Masters, Ashley Stricklen (Tyler), and Brittany Stricklen. She was amazed by their strength and resilience. She was proud of them and knew she didn’t tell them this enough

After so many generations of girls, she was pleasantly shocked to have a great-grandson added to the mix. Asher, who she loving called “my boy”, brightened her days with his laughter and loved his reading to her and telling her jokes.

Pat always said how blessed she was to be given such incredible brothers and sisters-in-law, who always made her feel loved and included.

She was thankful to have some wonderful lifelong friends (like Roe, Mardell, Ann, and Joan) that she loved to reminisce and spend time with.

Pat considered the people of East Grove part of her family and loved them like her own. She appreciated all the calls, cards, gifts and visits that continued through until the end.

She loved to garden, spend time with her friends and family, volunteer and bake. The family was treated to all their favorites. Her chocolate icebox cake was in much demand. She was kind and always ready to help and put in the hard work with her charities and church.

In addition to her husband, Patricia is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy, and her grandson, Tyler Masters.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Patricia on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the East Grove United Methodist Church, 1167 Belmar Road, Franklin, PA, with Pastor Drew Bell and Pastor Lea Guiney, co-officiating. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Patricia’s name to the East Grove United Methodist Church, 1167 Belmar Rd, Franklin, PA, and/or to the Kirtland Foundation, P.O. Box 108, Franklin, PA.
