Patricia “Pat” Lou Peterson

Patrica “Pat” Lou Peterson, 75, originally from Oil City, died Friday, February 9, 2018, in Webster, NY after a prolonged illness.

Born in May 29,1942, she was the daughter of Winifred “Fritz” Keniston Pleger and Edward E. “Bud” Pleger, Jr.

In her youth, she was a talented musician, playing multiple instruments. She loved to dance, rode motorcycles and was an amateur drag car racer. On March 17, 1972, she married Robert “Bob” Peterson and they raised their family in Cranesville, PA, before moving to Franklin, PA, Ashtabula, OH, and then ultimately Webster, NY.

Pat was passionate about music, literature, history, and local, national and global politics, as well as a strong advocate for lifelong education and women’s rights. She excelled as a homemaker, independent business owner, and as an office administrator at a local manufacturing company. In her later years, she enjoyed reconnecting with lifelong friends and being closer to her grandchildren.

Pat and Bob were married for 45 years and she preceded him in death. She is also survived by her three children, Chuck Peterson and wife Julie (Willoughby Hills, OH), Amber Martinko (Webster, NY), and Trica Peterson and wife Catherine (Rochester, NY), as well as Pat’s two stepchildren, Jerilyn Butler and husband Norman (Mentor, OH) and Todd Peterson and wife Stacie (Ripley, NY), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Other survivors include her sister, Mary Lee Hartle (San Antonio, TX), an aunt, Barbara Schilk (Oil City), and a special cousin Rebecca Fox (Oil City).

She was predeceased by both of her parents, as well as several aunts and uncles.

At Mrs. Peterson’s request, there will be no service or viewing. There will be a private burial in Pennsylvania at the convenience of the family.
