Patricia “Patty” Trainer (Kinch), 58, of Monongahela, PA, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, following a courageous battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.

Patty was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, and aunt who was dearly loved in return.

Born August 7, 1959, in Oil City, PA, she was the daughter of the late, Harry “Dean” Kinch and is survived by her mother, Alma Kinch, of Seneca, PA.

Patty was the devoted wife of 14 years to Richard Trainer Sr. Cherished mother of Bonnie Roxberry (Jay) of Elizabeth Township, and Natalie Trainer of Monongahela. Beloved grandmother to Jacob, James, and Annabelle Roxberry. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Linda Erwin (Michael); niece, Michelle Semprevivo (Tony); nephew, Michael Erwin (Caryn); great-nephew, Cruz; three step-children, Heather Maurer, Richard Trainer Jr. (Heather,) and Sonja Snyder; and eight step-grandchildren.

Patty attended Cranberry High School and graduated in 1977. She then went on to earn her Bachelors Degree in Business Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Masters Degree from The University of Pittsburgh.

Patty was a thirty-year dedicated employee at Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania. She began her employment at Goodwill as an Instructor teaching typing classes. Through sheer passion and determination, she advanced her career to the role of Chief Operating Officer where she retired from in February 2016, following her cancer diagnosis. Patty loved the mission of Goodwill and the individuals with whom she worked.

Patty also served on the Board of Directors for numerous organizations located in Pittsburgh, PA. Those included; Dollar Energy Fund, Northside Common Ministries, Goodwill Housing Board, and Three Rivers Investment Board. Additionally, Patty was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Coal Center, PA.

Patty was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a smile that was contagious and could light up a room. Patty adored her numerous pets and loved to travel. She enjoyed many family vacations to various beaches and to The Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. Patty was the type of person who positively impacted everyone she met with her thoughtful and encouraging personality. Patty will be tremendously missed and never forgotten.

Friends will be received on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela, PA, where services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ken Custer, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church officiating. A memorial luncheon will take place following the funeral service at Grace United Methodist Church, 420 California Drive, Coal Center, PA 15423.
