Member_147951[1]Paul D. Nevel, 74, of Oil City, died Friday evening, June 26, 2015 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, following a brief illness.

He was born in Oil City on July 14, 1940 to the late Albert and Ruth (Swarm) Nevel.

Paul attended Oil City High School. He was of the protestant faith.

Paul enjoyed watching western movies on television, and reading car magazines. He always had a joke or story to share and loved to make people laugh. He attended craft shows with his wife for over twenty years.

Paul was a considerate, kind, and gentle man. He did almost everything with his wife and they enjoyed spending their time with each other.

Mr. Nevel was employed in the maintenance department at Joy Manufacturing in Franklin for twenty-five years, retiring in 2000.

He was married at the Free Methodist Church in Franklin on September 23, 1972 to the former Mary Lou Eldersveld, and she survives. They would celebrate their forty-third wedding anniversary in September.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by special family friends whom thought of Paul as their grandfather, Johnathan Reinsel of Franklin and Kathlynn Foust of Franklin; and many close friends including Don and Mary Richardson of Hadley, Julie Reinsel, Helen Ray, Mary Kay Campbell, all of Franklin, Chloe Ann and Bruce Drelick of Oil City, and Arlene McDaniel of Clintonville. He is also survived by numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held on Sunday, JULY 12th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. Interment will follow in Brandon Cemetery in Cranberry.
