Paul LetaPaul E. Leta, 91 years of age, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 13, 2017.

He was born in Franklin, PA and graduated from the Franklin High School in Pennsylvania.

He was a WWII Army Veteran being Honorably Discharged as a Private 1st Class and having served in Central Europe receiving the Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star.

At the age of 21, he moved to Washington, PA where he remained for 60 years, prior to moving to Hanson, MA ten years ago.

Paul had been employed as a meat cutter for the A&P Supermarkets for 30 years.

Then, Paul was employed by the Kroger’s Supermarket and Rungo’s Market until his retirement.

Paul had been a 60-year member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Washington, PA.

Paul has currently been an active member of the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene in South Weymouth, MA.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Betty J. (Wible) Leta of Hanson, MA.

He is survived by his beloved and devoted daughter Kathy L. McCarthy married to Robert McCarthy of Hanson, MA.

Paul was also the father of the late Dennis Paul Leta who died at birth.

Paul was the proud grandfather of Elizabeth A. McCarthy, engaged to her fiancé Justin Gillis, both of North Quincy, MA.

Paul was the brother of Angela Moulton of Fredericksburg, VA, Joseph Leta of Georgia, Frank Leta of St. Louis, MO, and the late Nina Kemler, John Leta, Josephine Puleo, Ann Pangallo, John L. Leta, Antoinette Ellis, and Mary Bagnato.

Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree MA on Wednesday, May 17th from 4-7pm.

Funeral Service will be held at the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene, 385 Ralph Talbot Street, South Weymouth, MA 02190 on Thursday, May 18th at 11am with a viewing prior to the Funeral Service at the church AT 10am.

Burial will follow on Friday, May 19th at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery St, Bourne, at 1:45pm.
