Paul L. “Papa” Jones, 72, of 9196 US 322, Cranberry, died at 9:30 am Thursday, March 22, 2012, at his home.

Born November 19, 1939 in Farmington Township, Clarion County, he was a son of the late June Kiefer Antoske.

Mr. Jones served in the US Army Reserves, being honorably discharged in 1964.

He had worked for Knox Glass, Norm Nilsson, Dave & Dale Schreckengost, B&J Construction, Oil Well Supply and retired from Seneca Hardwood.

Mr. Jones coached the Cranberry Little League and Senior League baseball.

He was an avid sportsman, and especially liked the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.

Mr. Jones enjoyed his family, horseshoes and lending a helping hand with his carpentry skills.

On December 13, 1958 he married the former Beverly Bell, who preceded him in death on August 18, 1991.

Surviving are his two children, Jimmy Jones and wife Ronda, and Sheri Myers and husband Dave; four grandchildren, Zac and Nicole Jones, Dan Myers and Angelica Stricklen, Dylan Myers and Betsy Jones.

He is also survived by five brothers and sisters, June Mease, Phil Jones, Helen Eakin, Audrey Riling and Diane Dickey; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother and wife, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Alberta Wiley, Harry Geesey, Buck Jones and Bob Jones.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2:30 pm Sunday with the Rev. Pat Ellis, officiating.

Interment will be in Starr Cemetery, Nineveh.

In lieu of flower, memorials are suggested to the Venango County Humane Society.
