Peggy SumnerPeggy Lou Sumner, 69, of Templeton, died Sunday evening, March 19, 2017 at her residence.

She was born on May 23, 1947, in Ringgold, the daughter of the late Franklin R. and Ivy B. (Himes) Alcorn.

She was married on November 21, 1964 to Joseph W. Sumner and he preceded her in death, on December 14, 2016.

Mrs. Sumner was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and a past president of the American Legion Post #48 in California.

Survivors include, two sons, Joseph W. Sumner Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas and Franklin J. Sumner of Phoenix, Arizona, five grandchildren, and one great- grandchild.

Also surviving are three sisters, Joanne Bliss of Indiana, Evelyn Keesler of North Chesterfield, Virginia and Alice Geary and her husband John of Bellefonte, and a brother, Franklin R. Alcorn Jr. and his wife Sally of Florida.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn.

Funeral services will follow at 12 noon, at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Beck officiating.

Interment will be held in the Mateer Cemetery, Boggs Township, Armstrong County.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Peggy’s name to the Sloan Hill Church, 466 Sloan Hill Road, Templeton, Pa. 16259.
