PennDOT to Display Plans for River Road Project in Forest County

BARNETT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to view a display of plans to resurface River Road (Route 2002) in Barnett Township.

The roadway is located in Barnett Township between the Forest County and Jefferson County line, and the Forest County and Clarion County line.

Plans for the project will be on display as follows:

Date: September 26 to October 17, 2018

Time: 8:00 a.m. to noon on Mondays; 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesdays

Location: Barnett Township building located at 2301 Belltown Road, Clarington, PA 15828

About the project:

Construction will include bituminous asphalt paving, roadway cross slope build up, asphalt patching, drainage, guiderail, and pavement marking upgrades.

Construction is expected to occur in 2019. A detour of approximately two weeks in duration is proposed, using Route 36 and Route 899.

The purpose of the display is to introduce the detour route and to receive public input regarding any questions or concerns with the project. The display is set up to also receive any public input regarding historic or archaeological sites in the area, that could be affected by the project, as required by Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (cultural resources).
