Peter N DicksonPeter N. Dickson, age 75, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Allison Park, PA, died on Thursday evening, February 2, 2017 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Shippenville, PA.

He was born in Chicago, IL on November 13, 1941 to the late William E. and Anna Brown (Noble) Dickson.

Peter served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, being stationed in Sasebo, Japan and also briefly at the Bay of Pigs, Cuba.

He married his wife of 46 years, Linda (Benton) Dickson, in Pittsburgh on September 26, 1970.

Peter worked as a relay technician for Duquesne Light for 30 years, until retiring.

He was an Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow and served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader for Troop #169 at St. Mary’s Church in Glenshaw, PA.

An avid outdoorsman, Peter enjoyed camping, rock climbing, and spelunking. He also enjoyed model railroads and used his musical talents to fill in as an organist at several churches in Oil City.

Catholic by faith, he was a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Tionesta.

Peter is survived by his wife, Linda (Benton) Dickson of Tionesta; his son, Scott D. Dickson and his fiancée Christine Kirchgaiter of Tionesta; and his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Dickson and her husband Mark Winiesdorffer of Tionesta. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John E. Dickson.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday, February 5, 2017 in the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Monday, February 6, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 112 Bridge Street, Tionesta, with Rev. Fr. Joseph Kalinowski as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, 1325 West Walnut Hill Lane, Irving, TX 75015-2079.
