Ffrench made one of the game’s most dramatic plays when he took the second-half’s opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, giving the Panthers a 14-6 lead. It marked his second kick return TD of the season. Ffrench also owns a 91-yarder for a score in the opener against Albany and received the ACC’s specialist award for that week as well.

Ffrench (New Brunswick, N.J./New Brunswick) is the first Pitt player to have multiple kick return touchdowns in a season since Quadree Henderson had a school-record three in 2016 when Henderson was a consensus All-America return specialist.

Quickly establishing himself as one of college football’s top return threats, Ffrench is tied for the national lead in kickoff return TDs. (He is tied with USF’s Terrence Horne, who had both of his return scores against Georgia Tech on Sept. 8.)

Ffrench also ranks second (first in the ACC) with a 33.8-yard kickoff return average (10 for 338). He trails only Alabama’s Josh Jacobs, who owns a 34.2 average (9 for 308).

Following an open date, the Panthers (3-4, 2-1 ACC) will host Duke (5-1, 1-1) in a key Coastal Division encounter at Heinz Field. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised by select regional sports networks and shown locally on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh.
