Pleasantville Man Flown to UPMC Hamot Following Crash on Route 36

TIONESTA TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Pleasantville man was flown to UPMC Hamot following a crash on State Route 36 in Tionesta Township on Wednesday night.

According to Marienville-based State Police, around 8:56 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 42-year-old William C. Averill, of Pleasantville, was traveling north on Route 36 in Tionesta Tionesta, Forest County, and his 2012 General Motors Corp Sierra failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway.

He and his passenger – 39-year-old Joshua M. Schmader, of Pleasantville – suffered injuries of unknown severity.

A medical helicopter transported Averill to UPMC Hamot.

Clarion Hospital Ambulance transported Schmader to Titusville Hospital.

Both occupants were using seat belts.

The impact caused disabling damage to the vehicle. It was towed from the scene by Frank’s Auto.

Tionesta Volunteer Fire Department, Tionesta Ambulance Service, and Clarion Hospital Ambulance assisted at the scene.
