Police Arrest Hit and Run Driver for DUI

SANDYCREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police say around 6:43 p.m. on September 24 a Hit and Run accident occurred on State Route 8, near Polk Cutoff Road, in Sandycreek Township, Venango County.

According to police, this incident occurred as the actor – a known adult white male – was traveling south on State Route 8 and for unknown reasons, failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the roadway. The actor then traveled through numerous yards causing property damage.

The actor then fled the scene and continued to travel south on SR 8 for approximately five miles at which time his vehicle became disabled. The actor then abandoned his vehicle, police say.

He was observed leaving the wood area and picked up by a known person. He was then followed into the city of Franklin where a traffic stop was conducted, according to police.

It was confirmed that the actor was the operator of the hit and run vehicle.

It was later determined that the actor was under the influence of alcohol and arrested for DUI.
