Police Calls: Theft, Trespassing

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police responded to the following incidents:

Theft in Cranberry Township

Around 10:46 a.m. on Friday, August 16, Franklin-based State Police received a call in reference to a possible theft by deception that occurred at the Red Express located on State Route 257 in Seneca.

According to police, upon investigation, 49-year-old Lisa Minerd, of Youngstown, Ohio, admitted to going into Red Express and paying for items at the store, then telling the clerk that she did not receive enough change, although she did.

Police say the clerk then gave Minerd another $40.00 for the related short change.

Minerd was taken into custody and lodged in the Venango County Jail.

Trespassing in Barkeyville Borough

Around 10:41 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, Franklin-based State Police responded to the Motel 6 in Barkeyville for a report of a former employee who entered the building and went behind the front counter of the check-in desk, knowing that he was not permitted to do so.

Police say the former employee, a 27-year-old Sharon man, was asked several times to leave the building before he complied.

One count of summary trespassing is being filed through Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.
