Police: DUI Crash in Franklin, Oil City Man Arrested

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin Police say this morning around 3:05 a.m., a DUI crash occurred on the 300 block of Liberty Street, in Franklin, Venango County.

Officers were advised of lines down in the 300 block of Liberty Street, and they located a utility police that was struck, causing wires to become disconnected.

Due to the fresh snow on the roadway, officers were able to track the vehicle to a residence in the 400 block of Liberty Street, according to police.

The operator of the vehicle, 23-year-old Thomas L. Hearst, of Oil City, was located inside a residence and allegedly found to be intoxicated, police say.

He was arrested and transported to Franklin Police Department for processing.

He was released and will answer to a summons, according to police.
