SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Medical personnel from an area ambulance service were assaulted by a juvenile who they were transporting to a local hospital.

Sugarcreek Borough Police said the incident happened on November 30 around 5:10 p.m. along Route 8 when a known male juvenile allegedly assaulted medical personnel inside an EmergyCare ambulance.

Officers were dispatched to the scene and removed the juvenile from the ambulance.

The male was then transported by undisclosed means to UPMC Northwest for further evaluation.

Charges are pending.

Sources say the medical personnel who were assaulted were not seriously injured during the incident. Their names were not released.
