FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly posted several threatening comments on Facebook.

Court documents indicate the Franklin Police Department filed the following charges against 25-year-old Nicholas Andrew Benn, on Tuesday, August 13:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
– Harassment — Communicate Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3

According to a criminal complaint, on May 7, Nicholas Benn made a post on Facebook where he stated he had told a known female victim, at a local bar, that he would “split her head open in front of everyone in the bar.”

Multiple comments were posted, including one where Benn made a statement directly to a second female victim that said, “hahaha and I can make one phone call and have you killed,” according to the complaint.

Charges were filed against Benn in Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland’s office.

A preliminary hearing for the case has not yet been scheduled.

Benn is also facing a preliminary hearing on September 4 in Venango County Central Court stemming from an incident of theft that occurred in July.
