Police: Franklin Man Falls Asleep at Wheel, Slams into Tree in Suspected DUI Crash

ambulance-blurryOAKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to Franklin-based State Police, a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 417, at its intersection with Sunville Road, in Oakland Township, Venango County.

Police say on June 25, 24-year-old Jedd A. Fuller, of Franklin, was traveling north on State Route 417 in a 2012 Ford Escape and fell asleep at the wheel.

The vehicle began to drift off the left side of the roadway and continued through the median of the intersecting roads until striking a tree located on the west side of Route 417. It came to a final rest just past the Sunville Road intersection, according to police.

Emergicare transported Fuller to UPMC Northwest for suspected minor injuries.

He was not using a seat belt.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

Police say the crash involves DUI, and the investigation is ongoing.
