Police: Franklin Man Falls Asleep at Wheel, Strikes Tree in Jackson Township

police-car-woodsJACKSON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police say a one-car crash occurred on August 20, along Patchel Run Road, in Jackson Township, Venango County.

According to police, around 4:02 p.m. on August 20, Timothy M. Lafon, 48, of Franklin, was traveling north on Patchel Run Road when he fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of his 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Lafon then reportedly left the west side of the roadway and struck a ditch and then a tree.

Lafon was not wearing a seat belt during the incident. He was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene by Lowry’s Towing.
