Police: Franklin Woman Charged After Allegedly Chasing Man with Butcher Knife

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin Police Department responded to an incident of domestic violence on New Street, in Franklin, Venango County.

According to police, around 9:12 p.m. on June 24, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of New Street for a report of a physical domestic dispute. It was reported that the female suspect was chasing a male victim with a butcher’s knife.

Upon arriving, both parties involved were outside of their residence in the street.

Police say through interviews and an investigation, it was discovered that 37-year-old Kimberly Armagost possessed a knife and allegedly threatened the male victim with it.

Police say the victim was able to get the knife away from the suspect when she was allegedly “attempting to puncture the tires of his car in an attempt to keep him from leaving the violent situation with his two juvenile children,” according to police.

While on the scene investigating the incident, Armagost became disorderly, yelling at the male victim while officers were attempting to speak to her and the male victim separately, police say.

Armagost was warned multiple times to stop her conduct to which she became more disorderly, according to police.

After the investigation was finished, the male victim was attempting to leave when Armagost struck the male victim’s vehicle, police say.

At this time, Armagost was advised that she was will be charged with two counts of disorderly conduct.
