Police: Infant Suffers Broken Collarbone; Oil City Woman Accused of Child Abuse

crime photoOIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – Around 6:47 p.m. on February 4, officers responded to an alleged incident of child abuse at 22.5 Harriot Avenue, in Oil City, Venango County.

According to Oil City Police Department, a three-year-old male suffered a broken collarbone, and a 17-month-old male had numerous marks and bruising on his buttocks and leg.

Court documents indicate Oil City Police Department filed criminal charges against 26-year-old Ashley Himes, of Oil City.

Police say the victims are the children of Himes.

Himes was arraigned at 6:00 p.m. on February 10 in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish.

She faces the following charges:

  • – Endangering Welfare of Children – Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
  • – Recklessly Endangering Another Person
  • – Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
  • – Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)

Unable to post $125,000.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on February 17 in Venango County Central Court with Judge Fish presiding.
