SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a local man who was charged with assault is now facing additional charges after immediately violating a protection from abuse order (PFA) related to the assault.

Franklin-based State Police say an incident occurred at a location on Bully Hill Road in Sandycreek Township, Venango County, around 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, and 41-year-old Robert Porter was charged with assault and related charges. Porter was then arraigned and released on unsecured bail with the condition of no contact with the victim and parties of the household.

According to police, a protection from abuse order (PFA) was obtained by the victim and two others in the household.

Police say approximately an hour after Porter was served with the PFA, he called the residence of the victim. One of the persons who he is not to have contact with answered the phone, and Porter reportedly continued to ask to speak with another member of the house, who is also protected under the PFA.

Porter was then charged with violating the PFA and his bail was revoked for the previous charges, according to police.

He was remanded to the Venango County Jail until his preliminary hearings.
